CORE 82A
Dual 8-inch Active Line Array Module
Features
The CORE 82A is a 2-way system that combines line array principles with innovative horn loading techniques to produce a compelling compact line array with impressive dynamic impact. The low-frequency section of the CORE 82A is comprised of two 8" / 2" voice coil Neodymium drivers. The HF section is comprised of one 1.4" throat, and 3" voice coil Neodymium horn elements to produce a low-curvature vertical wavefront with an efficiency of 109dB at 1m for a 1W input. This optimal HF curvature enables the cabinet enclosures within the array to be splayed up to 10° without introducing gaps in the HF vertical coverage.
The CORE 82A features a two-channel, 1000W RMS, Class D amplifier that is specifically designed to power its corresponding passive cabinets, the CORE 82P, but can be used in a full active line array setup if required or preferred.
The CORE 82A also features the latest digital signal processor and the NUCLEUS FIR by Sound Barrier™ Loudspeaker Management Software. Though compact, the CORE 82A is a full-bandwidth system and may be used without subwoofers in many applications. Where additional low-frequency extension is required, the CORE 82A can be complemented by and is directly compatible with the CORE8218SA (Active 18" Subwoofer) and CORE8218SP (Passive 18" Subwoofer).

Class D Amplifier
Sound Barriers Class-D power amplifier technology packs tremendous performance operating with high efficiency in a lightweight solution. CORE82A amplifiers deliver an ultra-fast attack, realistic transient response, and impressive audio performance. More than enough to power the CORE 82A and an additional CORE82P. The amp is constructed with a solid machined aluminum structure, which not only stabilizes the amplifier during transportation but also assists in heat dissipation. To ensure the integrity of the amplifier's components in high-temperature settings, additional cooling fans have been integrated into the design.
NUCLEUS FIR BY SOUND BARRIER
Every CORE active unit functions with the NUCLEUS FIR by Sound Barrier™ Loudspeaker Management Software, providing all of the features and flexibility required to drive and align the CORE series systems. Incorporating traditional IIR X-over and parametric EQ functions in conjunction with revolutionary FIR modes, NUCLEUS FIR by Sound Barrier™ Loudspeaker Management Software is one of the most flexible, advanced yet user-friendly loudspeaker management software in the world. The software and integrated applications transform the CORE series system from an active line array system into a transcendent and revolutionary piece of audio technology no professional should be without
FIR PHASE CORRECTION
NUCLEUS FIR by Sound Barrier™ Loudspeaker Management Software features the FIR Phase Wizard, a step by step FIR system phase correction mode that maximizes the performance of the CORE series for efficiency and potency by phase correcting and adapting the system to its surrounding environment/ venue. The procedure only requires an ASIO box (audio interface), measurement microphone and CORE series line array system. The software automatically detects the ASIO box and measurement microphone when connected to the user’s PC.
Easy as 1 -2 - 3
Once the PC is connected to the CORE series system (via a RS485), the FIR Phase Wizard step by step instructions will guide user from IR measurement to FIR calculation. The Phase Wizard automatically processes measures and analyzes the test signal produced by the CORE system to allow for the systems environmental phase correction. Once the system’s environmental phase correction is complete, users can save the data onto their PC as an FIR Phase Wizard File and / or load onto the CORE series system cabinets. The FIR Wizard software and integrated applications transforms the CORE series sound reinforcement system from an active line array system into a transcendent and revolutionary piece of audio technology.
Thinking outside the box.
The CORE system amplifiers deliver an ultra-fast attack, realistic transient response, and impressive audio performance that is more than enough to power a CORE active array module and an additional CORE passive array module. The amp is constructed with a solid machined aluminum structure, which not only stabilizes the amplifier during transportation but also assists in heat dissipation. To ensure the integrity of the amplifier's components in high-temperature settings, additional cooling fans have been integrated into the design.
